Santa Paws Parade on Sunday

Join us on Sunday, December 9th at 1 p.m. for the Santa Paws Pet Parade in Burlington, Kentucky.  Pets and their people are invited to dress in Holiday Attire for a parade through Historic Burlington.  

A group will meet in the Boone County Administration Building's parking lot (2950 Washington Street, Burlington) and take a brief walk through the town. More information is available here.

A Burlington Christmas Overview!

Here's an overview of what's happening in Burlington this weekend! 

Visit Burlington, December 7 - 9 for a weekend filled with holiday traditions! Between the Library, Dinsmore Homestead, Boone County Historical Society and Historic Burlington Business Association, there is something that will appeal to everyone in the family. View the outdoor living nativity scene on Friday night while you wait for the festivities to begin. Santa will appear at 6:30 p.m. in the gazebo between the old and new courthouses, just in time for the Burlington tree lighting. 

Burlington’s shops and restaurants will be open special hours all weekend. Afterward, drop by the Main Library to listen to jazz and shop the art show.       

Stop by Farm Bureau Insurance on Saturday to see an operating Lionel train display, and then head over to the Dinsmore House for music, refreshments, a family scavenger hunt and Christmas Tours. Boone County Historical Society’s "Christmas in the Country" display will be open from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the old clerk’s building. Experience Christmas as it "used to be" as you browse holiday treasures from the past and then warm up in the Library at 2 p.m. while you listen to Wild Carrot & the Roots Band. 

The Santa Paws Pet Parade, sponsored by Boone County Animal Shelter, begins at 1 p.m. on Sunday in front of the old courthouse and Dinsmore’s Holiday Shop will be set up at Cabin Arts from noon to 4 p.m.

Santa Claus is coming to Burlington!

Santa Claus will be coming to Burlington, Kentucky for the annual Tree Lighting Ceremony on Friday, December 7th at 6:30 p.m.  Come out and join with the Historic Burlington Business Association at the Gazebo near the Historic Courthouse on Friday night for a visit with Santa.  

Hot Chocolate and Donuts will be provided by Linnemann Funeral Home beginning at 5:45 p.m.

Masterworks Photography will be on hand to take photos of everyone who visits with Santa.  Images will be available for sale via their website. 

Santa Paws Parade!

The annual Santa Paws Parade will be on Sunday, December 9th at 1 p.m. in downtown Burlington, Kentucky.  Sponsored by the Boone County Animal Shelter, this parade is for pet owners to walk their dog through Historic Burlington.  There will also be a professional photographer from Masterworks Photography at the Historic Courthouse taking photos of pets with their owners.  More information is available on the Historic Burlington Business Association website, or through the Boone County Animal Shelter Facebook page.  

Cookie Decorating at Washington Square Cafe'

Continuing a holiday tradition, Washington Square Cafe' and Catering (5981 N. Jefferson, Burlington, KY) will offer cookie decorating and hot chocolate on Saturday and Sunday. 

Cookie Decorating will be on Saturday, December 8th from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, December 9th from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.

Operating Lionel Train Display at Farm Bureau Insurance

Mike Crane will be displaying his Lionel Trains at the Boone County Farm Bureau Insurance office on Washington Street (KY 18) in downtown Burlington, Kentucky.  The operating train display will be available for viewing on Friday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

This is one of many special events taking place through "A Burlington Christmas" happening December 7th through the 9th.  "A Burlington Christmas" is sponsored by the Historic Burlington Business Association. 

Dinsmore's Holiday Shop open at Cabin Arts

The Dinsmore Homestead's Holiday Shop will be open at Cabin Arts (5878 North Jefferson Street, Burlington, KY) during the Burlington Christmas weekend sponsored by the Historic Burlington Business Association.  Visitors will be able to shop the many items that the Dinsmore Homestead has available for sale. 

The Dinsmore Homestead Holiday Shop will be open on Friday, December 7 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday, December 8 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Sunday, December 9 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m.
